Neglectful doesn't come close to explaining the way I've been toward my diary lately. I've no excuses to share though, life just caught up with me & the bustle that it brings keeps many things hanging on. I am still loving the new job. Still going out a couple nights a week for Guinness & laughter. Still watching the Spring rain through the sliding glass doors of my studio (sometimes standing smack dab in the middle of it & singing my little heart out), listening non-stop to the newest Ryan Adams & Ani Difranco releases... though I'm not doing these things alone anymore. I've got the Mu Shu kitty to keep me company & in a moment of insanity I got a new dog also. Not a dog really, she's just a pup, but her name is Oonah & her momma was a pure bred Blue Tick Hound & her poppa was a pure bred Chesapeake Bay Retriever & she's the cutest fucking thing on the planet. As soon as I can find the USB cord to my camera I'll post some long overdue pictures. I realized last night that I never even posted any from my last trip to the Springs & shite, I've been home for over three months now. Time is rushing by & it's actually alright by me. I've got no urge to fight it or even to try & slow it down even though the current is quickly carrying me toward 32 & I never thought I'd be that old. This was an exceptionally good week in Poppyland for two reasons... Tuesday Cold Roses was released & yesterday I purchased a Ticket to see Ani Difranco on September 14 when she returns to Chico to play an outdoor show at a tiny little venue in the park called Cedar Grove. Thrilled doesn't touch it. The new Ryan Adams & The Cardinals I can't say enough about. Perfect just about sums it up though, I'm already enjoying it more than any since Gold (which is saying a whole fucking lot because I've loved them all so much). So yeah, good week for me. I haven't yet started regretting my decision not to attend Coachella this year. Most of the bands I wanted to go for are also touring on thier own & I'd rather catch them in smaller venues without the 110 degree tempuratures or the maddening crowds & sunburn that accompanied last year's journey into the desert. The Pixies are playing the Warfield (best venue ever) for two shows soon & Wilco will be at the Greek Theatre (second best venue ever) & those would be lovely shows to see. It's so strange sitting here & writing, I feel like there's no rhyme to my reason & the flow is all but lost. I guess there isn't too much going on to report yet at the same time there are all kinds of thoughts in my head, but I'm not too comfortable putting them down just now. I wish I could find that damned USB cord, then I could share with pictures the things I can't quite find the words to explain. I'll keep looking & maybe post again later this afternoon. :blowing my speakers: Ryan Adams & The Cardinals ~ Sweet Illusions :feeding my head: Stephen King ~ Wolves of the Calla :rotting my brain: House of Wax
